Orangutan Tours – Three Hours Jungle Trekking

This is a trip where you might not have much time to stay in Bukit Lawang because you want to see other beautiful places of Indonesian. Or you are not strong enough to make the long journey in the jungle, but you’d love to see Sumatran orangutan( pongo abelli ) in the wild forest.

Our expert guide will accompany you into the jungle for 3 hours to find an sumatran orangutan and other of wildlife. We will also assist you in any way we can as we walk on some difficult and slippery trails.

Itinerary

The tour will begin after breakfast around 9:00 am. Our expert guide will pick up you at the hotel where you stay and you will joint with another group not more than six people unless your own group is larger than this size. We will pass the rubber plantation and that takes approximately about 15 minutes before we entrance the jungle. If we’re lucky we could see the Thomas leaf monkeys who eat the rubber fruits.

Once we arrive at the border of Mt. LeuserNational park, our guide will give you a briefing how to behave in the jungle. He’s a jungle expert and will explain to you all about flora and fauna. If we’re lucky we’ll see animals such as Sumatran orangutan, Thomas leaf-monkey, Silver leaf-monkey, Siamang, White-handed gibbon, Pig-tailed macaque, Monitor lizards, Sumatran peacock, Red giant flying squirrel and Malayan giant squirrel.

On the way we will stop for a break to eat the tropical fresh fruits that we had brought from home. After we finished eating, we continue our journey return to the Hotel/guest house.

After we finished eating fruits we will continue the journey towards to the river.

Once we get to the river you can take a swim, while enjoying the fresh water that comes from the mountains. Or you can just enjoy the beauty of the jungle from the riverside.
We will pack up to return to the hotel by traditional tube rafting.

The tour will be finished around 12.30.

This is one of my favourite experiences yet. Not even 10 minutes in we saw Thomas monkeys, and not even an hour in we saw orangutans. In total we saw 5 adults and 4 babies!

Jungle trekking in Bukit Lawang was awesome, I did see one of orangutan with local guide Seger nice man. Gunung Leuser NP is very admirable. And jungle trekking by riding an Elephant in Tangkahan was so great
